Claire

My friend Claire is moving this week. I will miss her so much, but least she isn't moving to somewhere too far away. She is always so kind to everyone.

I remember when she lived right across the street from me. We would always play together, and when we found out our 2nd-grade teachers and yelled across the street who they were. We weren't in the same class, so we were disappointed. But in 5th grade we were! This year we have every class together besides exploratories, CADET Time, and choir/study hall.

I will miss you Claire!

The Undergound Suprise

AAAAAAAHHHHHH! Seconds before, she had been at her locker, trying to find her notebook, and now Katie was falling down this hole. She had stepped on the bottom of her locker and felt it drop beneath her feet. Katie wondered when she would reach the bottom of the basement below the school. But what if this didn't go to the basement? Then where would she be?

The next thing she knew, she was laying in a bed, in a strange cave. Her leg hurt, but otherwise, she felt like she was dreaming. Then she saw a pale light, and a shadow coming towards her...........

Thanksgiving

Are you excited for Thanksgiving? I sure am. Do you have a traditional turkey meal? We are actually going to have two this year, one on Thursday and one on Saturday. I hope that we have pie with them, my favorite part.

On Wednesday, my aunt, uncle and three cousins are going to come and spend the night. The next day my aunt's mom (Not my grandma) is coming. Then after lunch, they will all leave to go up north. On Friday, my grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, and three other cousins are coming. They will stay until Sunday after church. Have a good Thanksgiving break!!

If I was a Sub...

If I was a substitute teacher, that would be great! For most of the class time, I would do what the teacher had told me to do. But for the last 10 minutes, whoever had worked quietly would get to have fun. We would do games such as Silent Ball, with candy prizes for the winner. What would you do if you were the sub?

The Real Teacher's Lounge Part 3

You know how in my last blog I said that there is a new planet just for teachers hidden inside the teacher's lounge? Well, there is also another door in that mysterious room! This door is the door that kids should never know about. It gives the teachers superpowers! They stay in this world but are disguised as people who you have never seen before.  Then what happens? Wait until my next post......

Ice Cream

Don't you love ice cream? What is your favorite flavor? I like so many, so it's hard to choose. I also like places like Orange Leaf, where you can create a new combination. Comment below if you have a flavor that you think I should try.

The Real Teachers Lounge Part 2

So, where was I? Oh, I was talking about the other planet, right? After the teachers exit the space elevator, they are in a world with every place you want to go, all right by each other. For example, if you wanted to be on a beach in Hawaii, you could. Tired of sand and blue water? Walk a little way and you are in New York City.

The other great part about this place is that there is money needed to use any of it. Tired out from deep sea diving and climbing a volcano? You can spend the night at whatever hotel you want, for free. And want to know a secret? This is just a test run, and someday the company hopes to open it to the public. I hope that it happens soon!

The Real Teacher's Lounge

You all know what the teacher's lounge is, right? It's that place where teachers go when they have a break. You may think that all that is in there is normal things, but that's not totally true. When you first walk in, yes, that's all that you see. But hiding through a secret door is a passage to another planet.

When you enter that secret door, you are instantly in a space elevator. The journey to another planet takes 5 minutes, but once you're there, time stops forever. They can stay for as long as they want, and then take the trip back and still have most of their break left. Then they can do the normal things that you always thought they did. But what do they do on that other planet? I'll tell you in my next post.....

Paintball

Paintball is so fun! Wednesday at Youth Group was my first time playing. At first, it was basically dodgeball, but then it turned into a free for all. For those of you who don't know, paintballs are about the size of grapes with paint inside that explode when you throw them at someone.

When it was over, we were all so messy! I had gotten hit on my face in three different spots. The worst part was, they were made of things that were supposed to be washable, including sugar. Do you know what that means? When it dried, we were all sticky! It was so fun, and I want to do it again someday.

Teeth

Teeth are crazy, aren't they? They grow in, and then they fall out. I just had one fall out last night, actually. My aunt got two permanent teeth knocked out when she was sledding as a kid, so she has two fake teeth. My cousin also knocked one out when he fell down the stairs.

I have a permanent (for a few years) retainer-thing that is behind my teeth. I might have to have braces someday, too. I can't imagine how dentists and orthodontists can look at teeth for a job. Even just writing two paragraphs about them is kind of gross. I'm glad that we have teeth though!

The Biggest Mistake Ever (on a sewing machine)

UH-OH!!! Mistakes happen, but I had never had one this big! I was sewing the 3rd thing that I had ever sewn by myself, and somehow, the fabric wouldn't move! I didn't know what to do, so I just kept pressing the pedal. I did this for a long time before I finally asked my grandma.

My grandma has been sewing for a long time, and her mom taught her how to, so she is pretty much an expert. But even she couldn't get it! I almost started crying, because I thought my 3-day old sewing machine was already broken. After a while though, she finally got it out. I was so happy!!

Now, I know that if something doesn't work, don't keep trying it!!!! I thankfully haven't ever done that again! I keep that in my box of sewing supplies to remind me of that time, and what not to do on a sewing machine.

Running

Run, Run, Run, Run. Do you like running? Maybe that is a hard question for you to answer, or maybe you know right this second. For me, that is a hard question. I like it, but it makes me so tired. Maybe you agree.

I only started running this summer. Before that, I would run in PE, but that was pretty much it. This summer, I ran in a race in my grandparents town. I didn't win, bu it was still fun. I also like to just run around town. That way, I can see things, and be excersizing.

I am excited to run a mile in PE tomorrow. I hope we can do it outside. Have fun running!!

Birthdays

When is your birthday? Do you do anything unique on your birthday? On my birthday I get to pick the breakfast and supper that we have that day. Since my birthday is during the school year, I can't pick the lunch, but I can pick if I have hot lunch or not. Since all of our family lives in Minnesota, they usually can't come for my birthday, but it is still fun to celebrate with my parents and siblings. I hope you have fun on your birthday, however you celebrate it.

Rainy Days

Do you like rainy days like today? Neither do I, because then I can't go outside. I also don't like them because then, even if you are inside, when you look outside through a window, it is dark and wet. Sunny days make me feel happy, and of course, who doesn't like being happy? I wish it could be sunny every day, but then nothing would grow.

Favorite Colors

What is your favorite color? If you ever ask me that question, I would start talking, and never stop for about a minute!!! I have so many favorite colors that I can't keep track of them all! Sometimes I see to colors together that I have never seen together before, and I add that combination to my mental favorites list. It also depends on what I feel like on a certain day. One day I might say light blue, while the next day it is purple.

When we moved into our house, my bedroom was yellow. I am glad that it wasn't a color that I didn't like because if we painted it, I couldn't decide what color to do. Today, I would probably pick peach/navy, but by tomorrow I would have changed my mind. My favorite color also changes depending on what the thing is that is that color. For example, I like hot pink, but not on my shoes.

In conclusion, I like many colors in different places. I also like different ones each day. Good thing that I can change my mind though! Well, I hope that made sense to you. See you later!

The Pool

Do you like going to the pool? I do, and I went about 5 times this summer. My favorite things to do there are to go down the slide, go off the diving boards, and play in the water. When you go, do you get a snack? I don't get one all the time, but sometimes I do. My favorite snack is the Giant Freeze Pops.

I like waterslides. When I go to the pool, I like to race my brother on the slides. I go down the covered one and he goes down the open one. Because the open slide is slower, I always give him a ten-second head start. I usually still win though!

I also like the diving boards. My favorite thing to do on them is to run and jump off the low dive. I am not scared of heights, but I still don't like the high dive. I wish that the pool was open all year round (but I guess it would become an ice skating rink!). That is why the pool is one of my favorite places to go in the summer.

5 Facts About Snow

Since there is so much snow on the ground, I decided to look up some facts about snow. 1. Snow is made up of tiny ice crystals 2. Sn...
